About us
Six stages, all under our own roof
The value of buying from a plant rather than a trader is control at the stages where mistakes are cheap to fix and expensive to discover. Here is what we control, in order.
This page describes process rather than premises. Capacities, machine counts and floor area are confirmed by the factory once you ask for them in writing — we would rather leave a field open than print a number we have not verified.
1 · Drawing and setting out
Every order starts as a drawing, not a cutting list. We set out the room, mark the junctions that need decisions, and issue a panel schedule that states the size, material and edge treatment of every part. You approve it before anything is cut.
2 · Panel cutting
Panels are nested and cut to the schedule. Batches are kept together through the whole run, so veneer and face finishes stay consistent across a house rather than drifting between rooms.
3 · Edge banding and drilling
Edges are banded after cutting, so the band is not thinned by the saw. Hinge cups, runner positions and dowel holes are drilled on the factory line to the same schedule the drawing was made from — this is what allows an installer to assemble by label rather than by measurement.
4 · Dry assembly
Carcasses and fronts are assembled on the bench before packing. Door gaps, drawer alignment, hinge adjustment and lift-system housing are checked here. This stage is why we are willing to ship flat-packed: the cabinet has been built at least once before it is taken apart.
5 · Inspection and labelling
Each part is checked against the panel schedule and labelled with its room, unit and part number. Labelling is done to the drawing, which means the installer works from the same reference the factory used.
6 · Packing and loading
Parts are packed in installation order, not by size, so the first thing off the container is the first thing the installer needs. The container is photographed against the loading plan before it is sealed, and that photographic record is what a damage claim is settled against.

Frequently asked
- Is the cabinetry flat-packed or assembled?
- Flat-packed as standard, because assembled cabinets consume container volume you have paid freight on and are far more likely to be damaged in transit. Assembled supply is possible for specific parts where a project needs it.
- Can we nominate a third-party inspection before shipping?
- Yes. Many importers do, and we would rather a third party finds an issue in Nanchang than the installer finds it in Melbourne. Inspection costs are borne by the buyer.
